Missions is often far from our thoughts. However, spreading the Gospel is not just the responsibility of the missionaries. We, as Christians, are called to be witnesses for the Lord. We hope that this Mission Conference can inspire us to make missions a part of our daily lives, whether it be in our communities, in our workplaces, or in our families. May we please the Lord by living out God’s calling, and be vessels of honor, sanctified, and useful to the Master.

Missions Conference 2024

Workshop Speaker: Meiyun (Phoebe) Hoyle

Meiyun (Phoebe) accepted the Lord when she was fourteen years old through the influence of her Christian mother.  Hudson Taylor’s biography, the first spiritual book she read, had a powerful impact on her decision to become a missionary.

Before coming to the US as a student in the late 1980s, Phoebe was in fact unaware of the Great Commission.  She began to sense God’s calling in 1995 and made a decision in January 1998 to joined China Outreach Ministries.  From 2000 to 2006, she served on COM’s ministry team at GWU, following which she moved with her family to China where they stayed during 2006 to 2013.   Since returning to the US in August that year, she has been serving on COM’s ministry team at George Mason and assisting with other campus ministries in the DC area.

Her husband, Stephen Hoyle, shares Phoebe’s heart for international students.  They have a daughter, Faith, who is currently a sophomore in college.
